Cutsure

Biometric Data Policy

Last updated 2026-10-26

This policy describes how Cutsure, operated by Kuo Han-Chun, an individual developer based in Taiwan, handles biometric information, including under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and similar laws.

What we collect

To estimate your face shape and to protect your face during try-on, the app detects facial landmarks in the photos you take and derives facial geometry from them. This may be considered a biometric identifier.

Purpose

Only to (1) estimate your face shape and recommend hairstyles, and (2) keep your face unchanged when generating a new hairstyle. We never use it to identify you.

Where it is processed and how long it is kept

Facial geometry is calculated only on your iPhone and is never sent to us or to any third party. It is discarded as soon as the analysis is complete and is not saved. Photos sent to our server for a try-on are deleted immediately after the result is returned.

Retention and destruction schedule: any biometric information is permanently destroyed when the purpose above has been satisfied — immediately after each analysis — and in no case later than 3 years after your last interaction with Cutsure.

Consent

Before any facial analysis, the app shows a separate screen explaining what is collected, why, and how long it is kept, and asks for your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data in Settings → Delete all my data.

No sale or disclosure

We do not sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from biometric information, and we do not disclose it to anyone.

Security

We protect all data using reasonable industry-standard measures that are at least as protective as those we use for other confidential information.
